How would you like to be a part of our new series of local guides? The idea is simple: Send us your local guide to your area and we’ll feature it here on Getaway Earth. On top of that we’ll be turning two of the guides into a professionally produced short film by Dan Childs who recently produced the following personal holiday rental film for us.
Do I Have to Appear on Film?
NO!!! Don’t worry, being a local guide doesn’t mean you have to appear in front of the camera! You can be involved as much or as little in the film as you like, so long as you’re the one who accompanies Dan during the production.
What Form Should the Guide Take?
The guide can be in whatever form you like: Video, words, pictures or a mix of all three.
What Should it be About?
Whatever you like! Whether it’s the best restaurants, a tour of the area, a celebration of the culture, the best beaches, must see attractions, things to avoid, insider (local) tips, etc. The point is to make it your personal take on your area as a local, to be used by visitors.
Can Anyone Submit a Guide?
YES!!! You do not have to own a holiday rental, nor do you have to have previously stayed in one. You simply have to be a local (see rules below) with an opinion! We’re looking for all forms of content: Long, short, creative, conservative, anything goes. And we’d like to hear from all age groups.
How do I Win?
It’s simple, there are two ways to win:
1. Be the writer of the guide that gets the most “likes” on Getaway Earth;
2. Be the first out of the hat (each published guide enters a random draw)
How do I Enter?
Simply send your content to us at localguide@getawayearth.com. We will take care of the rest, aiming to publish your material immediately, subject to any editing and meeting the rules below.
The Rules
1. You must either live in the area or own a property in the area;
2. Your content must be original, so no plagiarism please;
3. We reserve the right to refuse publication for any reason;
4. Once submitted, all content becomes the property of Getaway Earth
