The Story so Far – Part 4

Here’s the point: Man who chases two rabbits catches neither.

What??!! Have we gone crazy??!! Well not quite. Apparently the rabbit comment is an old Chinese proverb. I read it recently in this article about entrepreneurs who fail to focus on just one project and end up being mediocre at both. Whether it really is a Chinese proverb is irrelevant; the point is a good one.

I enjoy writing. I could wax lyrical about the last few months, the conclusions we’re reaching about Getaway Earth and personal holiday rentals. But it boils down to this one simple point: We need a partner in this venture and we’re inviting people to approach us if interested, either via the comments section at the bottom, or via our contact page.

What we are looking for
We’re looking for a partner who has the ability to put some decent hours per day into this project. We are not looking for full time, but rather consistent time so that we can plan. Someone who knows the industry would be ideal, for example an experienced owner.

What we are offering
We will put the required investment into the project. We will give up a stake in the company (for free) so you share in any success. We have a simple business plan with clear goals. We have a strong vision for a more personal holiday rental site, built with quality listings, not mass. We have a decent network of committed and personal owners to build from.

Back to the point
My other rabbit is a very serious full time job which I am successful in (the same holds true for Joe, my partner in this). I have that rabbit firmly in my hands so the proverb doesn’t fit perfectly my situation! But Getaway Earth suffers and doesn’t perform so well. I think in Latin the phrase is Q.E.D.

We will not make the next exciting investment without having a partner on board. Why? Well that’s best summed up in another saying, actually a definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

We need help and we’re hopefully offering it up in an attractive way. Please get in touch with us if you are interested, either in the comments field or via our contact form.

And if anyone has any comments of a general nature about what we’ve done so far and what we’re offering, we’d love some insight and wisdom (it doesn’t have to be of the Chinese variety!)…
