Visit the L’Abbaye de Fontevraud, to see the tombs of the Plantagenêts, Aliénor of Aquitaine, Richard the Lionheart, Henri II and Isabelle d’Angoulême. The Abbaye has a very interesting history and many links with towns and abbeys in England.
The Abbaye itself is very peaceful and is surrounded by some beautiful architecture.
The village of Fontevraud has several restaurants, the most well know of which is Le Licorne, a contemporary jewellery designer, a luthier and a workshop/gallery specialising inilluminated manuscripts.
