The oldest working woollen mill in Ireland is located in beautiful surroundings of Avoca, which is the village that posed as Ballykissangel! This and the other shops at Kilmancanogue and in Dublin (Suffolk Street) are great places to pick up lovely presents - soft wool rugs, beautiful clothes. The Kilmancanogue shop is an easy drive out from Donnybrook along the N11 and is well signed near Bray in Co. Wicklow. The restaurant serves delicious food - I recommend combining a shopping and sightseeing trip (you are in the Wicklow mountains here) with a lunch or coffee stop here.
