La Maison Du Curé » Cormatin, Bourgogne, France

La Maison du Curé is a self catering holiday cottage in the village of Cormatin. It has 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a child's bed, bedroom 2 has a small double bed and bedroom 3 has a double and a single bed. It is ideal for families and is available throughout the year.

Upstairs the cottage has three bedrooms, a bathroom and a toilet . Downstairs are an entrance hall, a shower room with toilet, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge with TV and DVD player. There is central heating in all rooms.

Situated in the Saône-et-Loire department of Burgundy, Cormatin is renowned for its sumptuous Louis XIII Chateau with its original decoration.

The village is well provided for with two boulangeries, a good butcher, a pharmacy, a grocer, a pizza cafe, a tabac and couple of restaurants.

Taizé the ecumenical Christian centre iis only about 5 minutes away by car. People from all over the world attend Taizé for prayer and Bible study. Visitors are welcomed to the Church services.

The nearest town is Cluny which is famous for it's 11th century Abbey which used to be the centre of religion in Europe before the building of St Paul's in Rome.

At La Maison du Curé you will be within easy reach of Tournus, Chalon and Mâcon. St Gengoux to the north of Cormatin is also an interesting medieval town.

This part of Burgundy has its own microclimate and is sheltered from extreme weather. The valleys are not too deep nor the hills too high and the landscape varies between forest, vineyard and meadow.

Hiigh season rates for June, July and August are €525 per week.
Mid season rates for April, May, September and October are €455 per week.
Low season rates for November to March are 385€ per week.

We run Saturday to Saturday in the high season but we are willing to take bookings for part weeks, minimum 195 euros or three nights, in the mid and low seasons.
