iPhone Applications
The great thing about the iPhone is the thousands of applications available, lots of them are free too. The best place to look for applications is on the Apple website, www.apple.com/iphone/apps-for-everything/traveling.html. some of our favourites are (search for the terms in bold in the App store to find them):
Google Earth – great for seeing where you are and what's around.
Lonely Planet have a range of in depth guidebooks and phrase books helping you to really get to know your destination.
Dorling Kindersley also have a selection of guide books from their 'Top 10' range these focus on the main attractions for some of the major city destinations.
Spots - The WiFi Hotspot Directory, those roaming charges can be steep so find free WiFi spots with this App where you can even download maps to you iPhone before you go.
Rocket Taxi very simply uses your location to give you the number of a local taxi firm.
All Subway has maps of 54 of the worlds biggest cities subways.
Tom Tom turn your iPhone into a Sat Nav, currently only released for UK or Western Europe.
Games - help pass the time whilst on a long journey, a couple of good games to look out for are Rolando, Rolando 2 and Flight Control.

The FIFA Football World Cup 2010 (soccer) Africa plays host to the world cup for the first time in its history. The competition will be held in South Africa.
